On mothers day we went off to the beach this year. We were doubley sinners I suppose as we skipped out on church AND didn't bring our dogs. We had a great time though. We shopped at the outlets, walked around the beach and of course had the famous Moe's for dinner. Leo made his first purchase for Ruth~Ann, in fact, I think it was our first non-second hand purchase for Ruthie. We think we like the nickname Monka-Ru and this was a great little outfit for Ruthie and her dad. :)

Backyard Adventures

Spring is in the air. The wisteria is growing like crazy. We painted up a cute little shelf and Al and Leo built me a bean growing box. To top it off we got a fire-pit with our garage sale money. We christened it this weekend with a ceremonial roasting of marshmallows over old bank statements that needed shredding anyways. Alex was sure we'd all get some sort of cancer from the burning ink on paper. We had a good time.

Bigger by the moment...

Well here I am... expanding each day. Not only in the tummy region... but the feet... or foot would be a better description. This is the beginning of week 31.

OVO!!

Again Leo and I got the great opportunity to go see a Cirque De Soleil. Had a great time meeting up with our good friends Billie and Nate, eat out at the Spaghetti Warehouse and then head over and watch the show. These are some pictures before we left. Unfortunately there was a really angry lady that was yelling any anybody with a camera at Ovo so no pictures.

Portland Trip

Over spring break we took a little overnight excursion to Portland. We walked in the rain... and walked in the rain... and oh, did I mention... walked in the rain? We went to the Grotto (Catholic Gardens)-- hey... it was raining, and up and down the streets of downtown Portland. We enjoyed Powells Books and all sorts of shops. I touched a pair of Swarotzki embedded Armani shoes. Worth more than a used car. We had a good time. Oh.. and it rained.

Snow Day

We had a snow day last Thursday. Weird because the following day was in the 60's and people were in shorts. I got the privaledge of taking care of a friends little girl. We built a snow "alien", had a high tea party, played with dolls, listened to sing-alongs, had a long lunch, "quiet time" and finally the day ended. We had a good time with each other. I was a little scared of having a four year old for the day... but things went well together. I guess it's that overwhelming feeling as I've been a teacher to have every moment planned. I'm discovering that would be a tall order to have every moment planned as a parent, and that time of just plain discovery is an important lesson to be learned (for both myself and little ones). Anyway, here her little snow creature.

I'm sure these are out of order of the progression of the room but I want to get them online for your viewing. After we took apart the bed and set up the room, we pulled out the mega blocks and built a structure together (mainly to see what was in the set). As you can see, Koda was interested in the construction as well.

We were going to stack the guest room mattress onto our own bed for the just in case of company... but once we stacked it we were reminded of the story of the princess and the pea. Needless to say, we are going to sell the set. It's official.
